Buckingham Palace has stripped the UK chocolate brand Cadbury of its royal warrant, according to a new list of palace suppliers published by the Royal Warrant Holders Association.

Earlier this year, the B4Ukraine Coalition wrote to the King, urging that Cadbury’s award be revoked, as its US parent company, Mondelez International, continues to operate in Russia.

Other companies still conducting business in Russia, including Nestlé, Bacardi, Samsung, Forbo and Kimberly-Clark, were also mentioned in the letter. However, these companies have retained their royal warrants, according to the new list.

While we commend the decision not to grant a royal warrant to Cadbury and extend our sincere appreciation to the Royal Family for their steadfast support of Ukraine, we urge King Charles to address other warrant holders with ongoing operations in Russia.

We reiterate that the continued presence and financial support of foreign companies in Russia only serve to prolong the brutal war against Ukraine. Therefore, we call on the Royal Family to stand in solidarity with Ukraine by ensuring that companies contributing to Ukraine’s suffering and devastation are not afforded the privilege and honour of holding a royal warrant. We urge the Royal Family to leverage its influence to encourage these companies to make a swift and responsible exit.
