Eighty foreign companies exited the Russian market in 2025, bringing the total number of international firms that have fully withdrawn from Russia since the 2022 invasion of Ukraine to 547, according to the KSE Institute.
Between October and December 2025, companies that completed liquidation included Anecoop, Generix, Kronospan, MAKROchem, METAProactive, Nokia, NSH Group, Rittal LLC, and Roland Corporation.
Business sales over the same period involved ABB, Allianz, Amalva Group, Dentsu, Grupo Antolin, Krewel Meuselbach GmbH, TP, TVH Parts Co., VLG.FILM, STO SE & Co. KGaA, and Preiss-Daimler.
As of January 2026, only 12.8% of international companies have fully exited Russia. Around 32% have suspended operations or announced plans to leave, while more than 55% continue operating in the Russian market.
The smartest companies have already left Russia or are finalizing their exit deals. Others are waiting until they become the next targets of forced asset seizures — a reality Rockwool and CanPack are now learning the hard way.
