“Ukraine wants to see Russia cut off from world maritime trade”, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba told Ukrainian media as the discussion around the seventh package of sanctions against Russia continues. He explained that some ship operators still provide their tankers to the Russian Federation.
According to the Minister’s information, those were Greek private-owned companies that were the largest suppliers of tankers to transport Russian oil by sea. Essentially, such actions of private companies help Russia get around the oil embargo.
“I don’t blame the Greek government,” added Kuleba in his interview and underlined that Ukraine wants to see the inability of ship operators to provide their tankers for Russia.
