B4Ukraine is pleased to invite you to its side event at the UN Forum on Business and Human Rights:
Business Disengagement from Wars of Aggression: Taxation, Ongoing Operations, and Responsible Exit from Russia
Monday, 23 November 2026
18.15–19.30 CET
Geneva Press Club
Four years into Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, thousands of multinational companies remain in Russia, contributing to the war economy through tax payments, recruitment of personnel into the army, and the maintenance of critical supply chains.
The discussion will examine two connected questions: when ongoing operations, including taxation and other financial flows, may cause, contribute to, or be directly linked to human rights harms; and what a genuinely responsible corporate exit requires in practice. It will consider the practical implications of a responsible exit, including stakeholder protection, prevention of value and capability transfer, and remedy.
The event is co-organised by B4Ukraine, the Business and Human Rights Resource Centre, the Investor Alliance for Human Rights, and the Human Rights Centre at the University of Essex. Speakers will include representatives from civil society, academia, investors, and business, followed by audience discussion.
The event is open to all interested Forum participants and stakeholders. Registration is encouraged to help us estimate attendance. The registration link can be found here.
